About the exhibition

The abundance of built heritage and relics in Hungary is well known. Greek Diaspora played a crucial role in amassing it, visitors of this exhibition can learn about well-know buildings that have not been known by many as related to the Greek settlers. Greek settlers supported the construction of the Chain Bridge, the Ludovica and the Hungarian Academy of Science. Their ecclesiastic, fine art and literary heritage is unparalleled in the region. Due to the rich public and private collections, Budapest History Museum is able to show relics never before shown to the audience. 3dtour team was requested to document this exhibition using our cutting-edge technology.
The exhibition of Budapest History Museum was open between 2nd April and 5th July 2009 evey day except Tuesdays.

Nuove funzionalità

We have started developing custom widgets to add life to panoramas by extending them with exciting new features. The first two of them are already available in several virtual tours developed by us.

Google weather

Based on weather information provided by Google, this widget displays either current or forecast weather information. A small icon depicts weather conditions (sunshine, rain etc.) and detailed information like humidity or wind direction is also provided. This component is multilingual, its language is adjusted to the language of the 3D Virtual Tour.

This component is only available in web-based 3D Virtual Tours.

Museum item searcher

This widget was developed especially for museum exhibitions, it enables users to find museum items displayed with zoomable image information points, slideshows or object panoramas by a single keyword. Use of this widget is very easy: just click on its icon, type a keyword, select an item and it will automatically download the appropriate panorama, pan and navigate to the museum item which will get displayed. Museum item searcher stores last searck keyword along with cached results to increase performance.

This component is available in both internet and CD-based 3D Virtual Tours.

Randomized sounds

We have extended the sound player component to support random sounds which get only played within a random interval.

Sound gallery: a graphical component to play sounds

A brand-new component has also been released to support collections of sounds (ie. list of sounds of different species for a nature park, or bells of a cathedral). This sound-list component contains a complete sound player with playlist, volume and track control buttons.

Improved background sounds : no more interruptions

A brand-new component has been developed to play backround music without interruption. This means that we can assign a collection of sounds to a collection of panoramic images. As long as you navigate among these panoramas, sound will be played without interruption. However if you navigate to another panorama which is not a member of the previous group, a new collection of sounds will be played. As an example:a collection of sounds is assigned to a collection of panoramas which represent the interior of a church. You can listen to the background music inside the church without interruption while you are inside. If you leave the church, a new collection of sounds will be played.

Two very important features were added to 3dtour: zoomable image information points and object panoramas.

It is very important for us to provide unique virtual tours for each of our customers. That's why we have extended our tooltips component and replaced the boring old loader with a much more advanced one.

Zoetrope is a custom effect designed to bring life into panoramas. As you turn around in the 3D world, different images can appear and later disappear. Ideal to show doors opening or to display humans. An example usage: imagine that the owner of a restaurant welcomes guests entering his restaurant.
