What is 3dtour?

This site is especially dedicated to a brand-new multimedia format named panoramic 3D Virtual Tour or just simpy 3dtour. It combines advantages of several already existing multimedia formats (like panoramic pictures, standard images, texts, audios and videos) to provide a unique user experience: to feel that you visit a building virtually just as if you were there. In fact you can walk around or inside buildings, you decide how long and what you would like to see.

Is it useful and worth?

Why is 3dtour useful?
We recommend our software to any museum, hotel, restaurant, shop or shopping center etc.

  • It can used to advertise a single monument (eg. a museum exhibition), a region or even a country. Since it is based on high-level spherical panoramic photos, it can be used to present anything that can be taken pictures of.
  • It can be used to document the state of any object before and after a major change (like reconstruction of a building).
  • 3dtour can be used on any website, in fact it doesn't require the redesign or rebuilding of existing websites. It can be attached to the site simply by adding a link.
  • Content of the tour can be changed, extended any time.

Is it worth having a virtual tour on my site?

According to a case study by Joseph L. Ortiz Radisson having a virtual tour achieved 135% increase in online revenue amounting to $7,200 per hotel per month over those without a virtual tour. The Return on investment (per hotel) was less than 4 weeks.

Key features

  • The same software is available in both an online and an offline version which can be distributed on DVD-s. The online version supports Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.
  • Content (texts, videos, audios etc.) is multilingual, any tour can have unlimited languages.
  • 3D Virtual Tours are generated error-free by our self-developed PanoramaBuilder® product. Using a code-generator enables us to create large virtual tours containing lots of panoramas and other multimedia items, decreases our costs and make the result error-free. Since it is our self-developed code generator, we can fulfill custom user requirements.

A monitor was a type of low body, heavily ironclad warship driven by steam engine, which was equipped with a rotating turret. The first monitor in the world, the USS MONITOR, was built in the United States in 1862. Since this warship design proved to work very well, it has spread all over the world: around 200 monitors were built until 1965, of which only 7 exist today, wholly or partially. One of them is our Lajta. It is unique in that this is the only representative of the version where the steering platform is located on top of the turret.

New features

We have started developing custom widgets to add life to panoramas by extending them with exciting new features. The first two of them are already available in several virtual tours developed by us.

Google weather

Based on weather information provided by Google, this widget displays either current or forecast weather information. A small icon depicts weather conditions (sunshine, rain etc.) and detailed information like humidity or wind direction is also provided. This component is multilingual, its language is adjusted to the language of the 3D Virtual Tour.

This component is only available in web-based 3D Virtual Tours.

Museum item searcher

This widget was developed especially for museum exhibitions, it enables users to find museum items displayed with zoomable image information points, slideshows or object panoramas by a single keyword. Use of this widget is very easy: just click on its icon, type a keyword, select an item and it will automatically download the appropriate panorama, pan and navigate to the museum item which will get displayed. Museum item searcher stores last searck keyword along with cached results to increase performance.

This component is available in both internet and CD-based 3D Virtual Tours.

Randomized sounds

We have extended the sound player component to support random sounds which get only played within a random interval.

Sound gallery: a graphical component to play sounds

A brand-new component has also been released to support collections of sounds (ie. list of sounds of different species for a nature park, or bells of a cathedral). This sound-list component contains a complete sound player with playlist, volume and track control buttons.

Improved background sounds : no more interruptions

A brand-new component has been developed to play backround music without interruption. This means that we can assign a collection of sounds to a collection of panoramic images. As long as you navigate among these panoramas, sound will be played without interruption. However if you navigate to another panorama which is not a member of the previous group, a new collection of sounds will be played. As an example:a collection of sounds is assigned to a collection of panoramas which represent the interior of a church. You can listen to the background music inside the church without interruption while you are inside. If you leave the church, a new collection of sounds will be played.

Two very important features were added to 3dtour: zoomable image information points and object panoramas.

It is very important for us to provide unique virtual tours for each of our customers. That's why we have extended our tooltips component and replaced the boring old loader with a much more advanced one.

Zoetrope is a custom effect designed to bring life into panoramas. As you turn around in the 3D world, different images can appear and later disappear. Ideal to show doors opening or to display humans. An example usage: imagine that the owner of a restaurant welcomes guests entering his restaurant.
